Salary: $100,000 - $132,000, depending on experience

FTE: 1.00

Location: This position is located on the Portland State University campus in Portland, OR.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

The Assistant Vice Chancellor for Industry Partnerships will be responsible for fostering and brokering projects and programs that link OUS academic programs with research, and service the needs of a diverse set of Oregon industries. The Assistant Vice Chancellor will work closely with OUS institutions and members of the Chancellor’s Office to identify industry collaborations, including those with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields, health care, forestry, and other prominent or emerging Oregon industries. This position reports to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Strategies, and works in close collaboration with the Chancellor’s Executive Cabinet.

MINIMUM (REQUIRED) QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate degree in an applicable field.

  • Three to five years of demonstrated experience operating a unit with increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Broad exposure to industry trends, particularly as they pertain to the state of Oregon, and demonstrated experience working with leaders across these industries.

  • Established industry & government contacts and proven ability to create partnerships.

SPECIAL (PREFERRED) QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing and overseeing budgets with multiple, dynamic funding sources.

  • Familiarity with OUS educational programs and formation.

  • Experience working with a Board of Advisors/Directors.

  • Success in providing legislative testimony and building legislative relationships
