Description:
The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit for Custodial Services for PSU academic, office and other non-housing buildings. Given the University’s commitment to sustainability, proposals will be evaluated in part on use of “green” products (Environmental Preferability) and Environmentally Preferable purchasing of products, supplies & materials required in the performance of the desired services. As will be discussed in greater detail below, PSU requires the level of service necessary to obtain the Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers (APPA) Level 2 appearance factor, as described in the APPA publication “Custodial Staffing Guidelines for Educational Facilities”, Second Edition. The emphasis of the Proposal should be a clear indication of the Proposer’s ability to provide services that meet or exceed the Requirements set forth in this RFP and the Custodial Services Specifications addressed in Exhibit B. PSU, in it’s sole discretion, reserves the right to reduce or enlarge the scope of services set forth in any contract as a result of this solicitation, taking into account budget considerations, and other factors which relate to PSU’s then current specifications and requirements, including but not limited to, the timeframe within which services are required. By way of example, and not as a limitation, changes in scope may involve the total number of square feet or total number of buildings or rooms that are to be provided custodial services under the terms of the contract.
