Work with Portland State University to continue Department of Defense funding for the Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute

DESCRIPTION/SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS:
SOLE SOURCE: Portland State University intends to contract with Cascade Associates to continue Department of Defense funding for the Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute to increase the U.S. government commitment to, interest in, and funding of the ONAMI Nanometrology Initiative, the ONAMI Miniature Tactical Energy Systems program, and the ONAMI Safer Nanomaterials activity.
An entity may protest this determination in accordance with OAR 580-061 - 0145 no later than November 27, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Protests must be submitted to the Purchasing and Contracting Office, 724 SW Harrison, Rm. 153 Neuberger Hall, Portland OR. 97201. Cascade Associates will work with Portland States University and the ONAMI family, to draft appropriate advocacy documents for the ONAMI requests

Cascade Associates will meet with Oregon Delegation staff and brief them on progress on ONAMI and request additional emphasis for Fiscal Year 2007.

Cascade Associates will fill out and submit appropriations forms as necessary

Cascade Associates will work with the ONAMI to secure support from industry partners

As needed, Cascade Associates will work with PSU to coordinate meetings when PSU staff is in Washington

Cascade Associates will act as liaison with the Defense Appropriations Committee (House and Senate, Majority and Minority) to advocate on behalf of the ONAMI requests.

Cascade Associates will coordinate activities in Washington among the three Oregon education institutions that are involved in the ONAMI congressional requests.

Cascade Associates will respond to all congressional inquiries about the three ONAMI requests.

Cascade Associates will report significant actions to PSU as soon as possible and will provide monthly reports.
