• Optional Retirement Program (ORP)
  • Optional Retirement Plan Overview
    • Unclassified OUS employees are eligible to participate in the Optional Retirement
    • The ORP is an alternative to becoming a member of the Public Employees' Retirement Plan (PERS), and the Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan (OPSRP)
    • OUS currently makes both the employer and employee pre-tax contributions for participants
    • ORP participants may select one of four investment companies

      • Scudder Investor Service
      • VALIC

• Tax Deferred Investment Program (IRC Section 403b)
  • The Tax Deferred Investment (TDI) program is offered through investment companies which have met criteria established by OUS to offer tax-deferred annuities to employees on our campuses. The TDI program is an IRC Section 403(b) plan.
    • Permits voluntary, pre-tax contributions as a payroll deduction
    • Contributions and earnings are not taxed until withdrawn
    • All OUS employees are eligible to participate in the plan
