GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF CLASS
The CAMPUS PATROL OFFICER patrols parking areas to enforce parking regulations and buildings and grounds to assure security. The CAMPUS PATROL OFFICER provides information and assistance, such as directions and building access, to students, faculty, staff and visitors on a campus of the State System of Higher Education.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS
The Campus Patrol Officer has daily in-person contact with a variety of persons, including students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the campus, providing information and assistance as needed.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
The Campus Patrol Officer receives specific schedules and work assignments from a supervisor at the beginning of each shift. After initial training, the employee works independently according to specific guidelines based on laws, rules and department and institution policies and procedures. Depending on the nature of the assignment and conditions on the shift, work is reviewed both as completed and in progress for compliance with policies and procedures and appropriate action or response.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Campus Patrol Officer must be willing to work rotating shifts and overtime when necessary, work outdoors in all kinds of weather, climb stairs and be on their feet for long periods of time and be willing to work alone, often in empty buildings or isolated parts of a campus.
