- Engineering and Technology Industry Council (ETIC): a consortium of industry, education, and public leaders whose mission is to make post-secondary engineering and technology education a strategic resource that fuels the economy and creates opportunity for all Oregonians. The Engineering and Technology Industry Council (ETIC) was established in 1997 by the Oregon Legislature through SB504 to establish criteria and measurements that will be used for determining investments made from the Oregon Engineering Education Investment Fund.
- The Oregon Pre-Engineering and Applied Sciences Strategic Planning Summit (OPAS) in 2005 brought industry and educational leader together from throughout Oregon to launch the process of crafting a statewide strategy for enhancing pre-engineering and applied sciences education in Oregon. OPAS delegates and committees are working to craft and implement the Summit strategic plan and recommendations. OPAS is a partnership of industry foundations and the state’s public educational sectors.
- GET REAL: Explore Computer Science and Engineering campaign is a partnership between OUS, Oregon high school teachers, and many of Oregon’s top industries, to provide college and career information about the fields of engineering and computer science to high school students. The effort is managed through ETIC.
- Oregon Robotics Tournament and Outreach Programs (ORTOP): Administered by OUS, ORTOP provides opportunities for students in fourth through ninth grade to experience the challenges and rewards of technical teamwork and gain insights into possible technical careers by building a robot, preparing a research presentation and competing in local and state tournaments. www.ortop.org
- Oregon Metals Initiative, Inc. (OMI): a consortium of metals industry companies and research institutions that pursues research to improve the long-term competitiveness of the metals industry and the research infrastructure in Oregon.
