Strategic Programs and Planning


The Strategic Programs and Planning Division oversees a broad array of strategic issues development, planning, analysis, performance measurement, and accountability reporting in support of Board of Higher Education strategic planning and policy making. The Division is also responsible for OUS-wide student success initiatives coordination and development and for coordination of academic program policies on behalf of the Board. The functions carried out by the departments within Strategic Programs and Planning include: development of agency-level OUS strategic plans and initiatives; coordination with OUS campus strategic plans and with inter-sector planning conducted by the Joint Boards of Education; development and implementation of the System level performance and accountability framework; development of analytic and information management tools, such as integrated databases, forecasting models, peer analysis, and surveys; development and coordination of system level initiatives related to student success; and work on programs and processes that help to align standards and assessment between K-12, community colleges, and higher education. The Division provides coordination with and staffing for the Board’s Academic Strategies Committee, the Joint Boards’ Unified Education Enterprise Committee, the OUS Provosts’ Council, and the OUS Research Council.
