Naming of Law & Legal Center, UO
OAR 580-050-0025 allows exceptions regarding naming buildings after a living person if "the donor contributes a substantial share of construction or if other unusually meritorious reasons exist." UO wishes to name the building currently housing the Law and Legal Center after living persons. Upon approval and completion of renovation, the building would be named "Grayson Hall."
Authorization to Allocate Elsie Silver Estate to the Theatre Arts Department & Undesignated
UO requests authorization to transfer $83,000 of funds recently received from the Elsie Silver Estate to the Theatre Arts Department for immediate expenditure.

The recognition of American Sign Language (ASL) as a language and increased student interest in the field have combined to create a need for highly trained teachers. This ASL degree would address these needs.
Criminal Justice Policy Research Institute, PSU
PSU seeks authorization to formalize the Criminal Justice Policy Research Institute, which has already done significant work in the field. Positive Board action would assist the Institute in securing greater outside funding for this important endeavor.
Master of Music in Performance or Conducting, PSU
PSU requests authorization to award the M.M., which would emphasize student development at a professional level. Currently, students interested in graduate work pursue either the MAT or MST.
Emerging Small Business/Minority & Women Business Enterprise Contracts
Board OARs require an annual review of the prior calendar year's participation by emerging small business enterprises and minority or women business enterprises contractors and subcontractors in capital improvement projects. This reports summarizes that review and analyzes shifts in the participation rates of these groups.

This status report summarizes the major charges affecting the education profession and OSSHE's programs, particularly since the passage of the Educational Act for the 21st Century.
One Year Later: The Status of 1994-95 OSSHE Bachelor's Graduates
This report covers the activities of 1994-95 baccalaureate graduates from the seven OSSHE institutions one year after graduation. More than 80 percent are employed, approximately one in five is continuing their education, and about 4 percent are not working but are seeking employment. Other findings such as major areas of employment are included in this report.
