Governor-appointed Task Force will host public forums in Medford, Portland, Newport, Eugene, Bend, and La Grande to inform legislative recommendations
What:
STATE-WIDE REGIONAL FORUMS ON STUDENT SUCCESS IN HIGHER EDUCATION
Who:
Oregon’s Governor-appointed Task Force on Higher Education Student and Institutional Success is looking for comments and suggestions: how can we increase student success in Oregon’s community colleges and universities? Created by the Oregon Legislature in 2011, and appointed by Governor Kitzhaber, the Task Force is holding regional public forums across the state to collect public feedback on its efforts to increase graduation and completion rates for post-secondary students. Over the last nine months the Task Force has worked to draft a number of recommendations for legislative consideration and would like to hear from the public before submitting its report to the Oregon Legislature in October.
Copies of the draft report and a summary of the recommendation will be available at the meeting and on the following website under the Regional Meetings header no later than September 10th: http://www.ous.edu/state_board/jointb/sis/meet.
These meetings are organized by the Oregon University System and Oregon Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development in cooperation with local educators. Forums will be held in Bend, Eugene, La Grande, Medford, Newport and Portland. For more information about the Task Force, visit: http://www.ous.edu/state_board/jointb/sis. Contact and submit written comments: Anna_Teske@ous.edu.
