TITLE:

Vice Chancellor for Academic Strategies

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

The Oregon State Board of Higher Education is seeking a new Vice Chancellor for Academic Strategies of the Oregon University System (OUS). The Board is a twelve member appointed citizen body which is responsible for setting policy for the Oregon University System. The Chancellor of the Oregon University System is the chief executive officer and carries out the policies of the Board. The Oregon University System includes seven institutions: Eastern Oregon University (La Grande), Oregon Institute of Technology (Klamath Falls), Oregon State University (Corvallis), Portland State University (Portland), Southern Oregon University (Ashland), University of Oregon (Eugene), and Western Oregon University (Monmouth). Oregon Health and Science University is an affiliated institution located in Portland. Four of the universities offer undergraduate and some master’s degrees. The other three are doctoral degree-granting institutions. This position will open in July, 2010.
