Higher Ed Board to Meet at Eastern Oregon University
EUGENE - The Oregon State Board of Higher Education will hold a regular meeting Friday, June 8 on the campus of Eastern Oregon University, La Grande.
On the agenda for Friday's meeting are consideration of a property sale at Southern Oregon University, a building renaming at the University of Oregon, and new temporary administrative rules that will allow dependents of military personnel residing in Oregon to pay resident tuition for enrollment at a school within the Oregon University System.
The Board's Budget and Finance Committee will consider the property requests during an 8 a.m. meeting in Room 210, of EOU's Ackerman Hall. Proposed at SOU is the sale 40.48 acres to an Ashland resident for development of an outdoor native plant laboratory. The committee also will consider a request to rename the UO's University Inn residence hall in honor of retired housing director H.P. Barnhart.
The adoption of a temporary rule affecting military dependents is on the agenda for the System Strategic Planning Committee, which will meet at 8 a.m. in Room 211, Ackerman Hall. Other items on the SSP Committee agenda include review of a new master's of music degree at the UO and two certificate programs at SOU.
The full board is scheduled to meet beginning at 10 a.m. in Room 211, Ackerman Hall. It's meeting, and the other committee meetings, are open to public.
Prior to Friday's meeting, members of the State Board will hold an open forum for EOU students, faculty and staff at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 7 in the Lyle Schwartz Theatre, Loso Hall.
