September 13, 1999 Contact: Bob Bruce, 503-725-5714 1999-2000 Operating Budget Approved by State Higher Ed Board EUGENE - The Oregon State Board of Higher Education today approved a 1999-2000 operating budget of $1.4 billion for the Oregon University System. The budget provides $1.35 billion in operating funds for the seven public university campuses, plus $79.2 million in funds for capital construction. Under the new budget, all OUS campuses will share in increased state appropriations. Monday's approval set respective 1999-2000 operating levels at $30.3 million for Eastern Oregon University, La Grande; $32.9 million, Oregon Institute of Technology, Klamath Falls; $352.7 million, Oregon State University, Corvallis; $230 million, Portland State University; $55.7 million, Southern Oregon University, Ashland; $368.7 million, University of Oregon, Eugene; and $67.8 million, Western Oregon University, Monmouth. Also approved were operating budgets of $58 million for the Agricultural Experiment Station, $36.5 million for the Extension Service, $18.6 million for the Forest Research Laboratory, and $14.6 million for the Chancellor's Office. |
