December 17, 1999 PORTLAND - Portland business executive Tom Imeson has been re-elected as president of the Oregon State Board of Higher Education for a second one-year term. Imeson was elected Friday as the Board chose officers for 2000. Don VanLuvanee, president of Electro Scientific Industries, Beaverton, was elected vice president. Both will serve on the Board's executive committee along with members Herb Aschkenasy, Salem, Jim Willis, Salem, and Phyllis Wustenberg, Bay City. Imeson recently began his second four-year term as a member of the Board. First appointed in 1995, he was reappointed in October by Gov. John Kitchaber. He is the vice president of government, public affairs, and communications for PacifiCorp, and served on the Governor's transition team and as his temporary chief of staff in 1994. He also has worked as chief of staff for former Gov. Neil Goldschmidt and as a field director for retired U.S. Senator Mark Hatfield. |
