2-YEAR COLLEGES

Oregon's 17 public 2-year colleges, also known as community colleges, offer a variety of educational options. Students may complete college transfer coursework leading to a bachelor's degree, receive specialized training for employment in professional/technical fields, engage in lifelong learning opportunities, and improve basic skills in areas such as mathematics, reading, and writing. Most programs are available at all community colleges, but programs do vary. Many community colleges also offer courses through distance education by means of telecourses, online (computer-based) courses, correspondence courses, videotaped courses, and two-way interactive video courses.
