Negotiations continue on a contract settlement between SEIU Classified staff and the Oregon University System. Both parties agreed to meet again on Wednesday, September 18 to continue mediated bargaining.

Last week SEIU filed a notice of intent to strike beginning September 23 prior to the start of Fall term on September 30.  That notice may be withdrawn and we remain hopeful that a fair settlement can be reached prior to a strike.  Regardless of the outcome, OUS campuses are prepared.  Classes will begin on time, and campus services will proceed uninterrupted.

We respect all of our employees and the contributions they make to student success. We are committed to a settlement that recognizes the need for fair compensation and benefits within the limited means of all of our campuses.

The Oregon University System (OUS) makes college a reality for Oregonians statewide by keeping higher education accessible, affordable and high quality. We integrate Oregon’s public universities with the entire PreK-20 education system to ensure student success. OUS’ higher education offerings meet the needs of Oregon’s economy today and in the future, contributing to the vitality of the state and the success of more than 20,000 gradates a year.
