*Faculty include professors, associate professors, assistant professors, senior instructors,
instructors, and lecturers who taught credit courses (excluding continuing education) in Fall 1995, are
budgeted in state-assisted accounts, homed in an instructional account (-050-0001 through -5499), and
have a "regular" appointment status (as opposed to temporary or occasional). For OSU's Agricultural
Experiment Station, Forest Research Laboratory, and OSU Extension Service, the numbers include faculty
homed in any -050- account with at least some FTE budgeted in an instructional account.

**Total FTE includes ranked faculty plus graduate assistants and adjunct instructors who taught courses.

# "Instructional course credits" is the credit hour value of courses taught by ranked faculty and by all
instructional FTE, respectively.  Includes independent study courses.  Course credits of "Total FTE" include
courses taught by administrators and instructors budgeted in non-instructional departments; those
instructors are not included in the instructional FTE counts.

@Average Instructional Course Credits = Ranked Faculty Course Credits divided by Ranked Faculty FTE
and Total Instructional Course Credits divided by Total FTE.

##FTE enrollment is based on 15 credit hours per term for undergraduates, 12 credit hours per term for
master's and postbaccalaureate graduate students, and 9 credit hours for doctoral students.
