M.A., M.S., & Ph.D. in History of Science, OSU
OSU seeks authorization to offer graduate degrees (M.A., M.S., & Ph.D.) in History of Science. This interdisciplinary field studies the development of scientific thought, the relationship of science and culture, and analyzes the place of scientific endeavor in society.
A.A.S. in Emergency Medical Technology & B.S. in Emergency Medical Services, OHSU
OHSU is proposing to offer an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Emergency Medical Technology and a B.S. in Emergency Medical Services. The A.A.S. has become the entry-level educational requirement in Oregon; the baccalaureate degree program would be the only public program of its kind in the state.

Preliminary Proposals for New Graduate Programs
The following preproposals for graduate programs are presented for Board discussion and guidance:
Ph.D. in Radiation Health Physics (OSU)
Master of Music in Performance or Conducting (PSU); Elimination of the Master of Arts in Teaching Music (PSU)
Joint Program in Master of Software Engineering (OSU, UO, PSU, OGI)
Joint-Campus Graduate Program in Environmental Sciences, Studies, and Policy (UO, OSU, PSU)
Master's Degree in Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy (OHSU, OSU, OIT)
In addition to the preproposals, a number of significant issues related to collaborative programs are raised and questions posed.

Third Quarter Report on Investments
The third quarter investment report of the Pooled Endowment Fund contains (1) a summary from the Common Fund describing performance results, (2) tables showing the market value and investment performance, and (3) an investment consultant's report (R. V. Kuhns & Associates).
Report on Sale of Bonds
This report summarizes the results of the May 1, 1996 bond sale.
Semi-Annual Report on Capital Construction Projects
This is a routine report of activity on Board-approved capital construction projects from October 1995 through April 30, 1996.
