Meetings of the State Board of Higher Education's Investment Committee, Joint Budget and Finance/System Strategic Planning Committee, and a brief meeting of the full Board will be held May 18-19, 2000. All meetings will take place in accordance with the times, locations, and schedules listed below:

The Committee will discuss the third quarter investment report; review the outcome of a recent Oregon Investment Council meeting where Board investment objectives and policy guidelines were examined; and consider the endowment spending policy and distribution rate.

The purpose of the meeting is to continue work on 2001-2003 biennial budget development, including policy issues relating to targeted enrollment, operating budget, and capital budget proposals.

Shortly after convening, the Board will excuse itself for an executive session to interview a candidate for interim president at Southern Oregon University. This session, from which the public is excluded, is held pursuant to ORS 192.660(1)(a), for the purpose of discussing personnel matters. Pursuant to ORS 192.660(3), representatives of the news media will be allowed to attend, but the Board requires that the discussions and any reports received in the executive session be undisclosed.

Pursuant to ORS 192.660(4), no final action will be taken or final decision made at this executive session. The Board will reconvene publicly after its executive session, and, if applicable, take final action on the appointment.
