TO: MEMBERS OF THE STATE BOARD OF HIGHER EDUCATION

Meetings of the State Board of Higher Education's Executive Committee and Investment Committee and will be held on September 15 and 26, 2000. Both meetings will take place in accordance with the times, locations, and schedules listed below:

Shortly after convening, the Committee will excuse itself for an executive session (Room 225, Smith Memorial Center) to conduct Chancellor Cox's annual performance review. This session, from which the public is excluded, is held pursuant to ORS 192.660(1)(a), for the purpose of discussing personnel matters. Pursuant to ORS 192.660(3), representatives of the news media will be allowed to attend, but the Board requires that the discussions and any reports received in the executive session be undisclosed.

Once reconvened in open session, the Executive Committee will review the final draft of the Central Oregon Branch Campus Request for Proposal. The Committee will also take action on two items: 1) release of funds by the Legislative Emergency Board to OSU for an indoor practice facility, and 2) a grievance filed by an employee at PSU. The remaining portion of the meeting will be devoted to development of the Board's 2000-01 strategic work plan with facilitator Dr. David Nygren.

Originally scheduled to convene on September 14, the Committee intends to conduct interviews of potential new small cap investment fund managers. The fourth quarter investment report will also be reviewed.
