A regular meeting of the State Board of Higher Education and a meeting of the Joint Boards of Education will be held on Friday, September 19, 1997. The meetings will be held at the Oregon State Capitol, 900 Court St., Salem, Oregon, in accordance with the locations and schedule listed below.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19

9:00 a.m.	Executive Session of the Board Receive advice from person designated as labor negotiator

9:30 a.m.	Board Meeting

12:15 p.m.	Lunch (or at conclusion of Board Meeting)
	State Capitol -- Blue Room
1:00 p.m.	Joint Boards of Education Meeting
	State Capitol -- Hearing Room F Governor John Kitzhaber is scheduled to join the meeting at approximately 1:15.

On Thursday, September 18, 1997, there will be a meeting of the Board Committee on Athletic Funding and Sports Action Lottery according to the following location and schedule:

4:00 p.m.	Board Committee on Athletic Funding and Sports Action Lottery
	Ramada Inn -- Cascade Room 200 Commercial St. SE, Salem The purpose of this meeting is to establish the parameters of work for the Committee, review past decisions regarding athletic funding, Sports Action Lottery, and other relevant data, and frame the questions that need to be posed to arrive at a recommendation.

At 6:30 p.m., Thursday, September 18, there will be a Board reception and dinner honoring the service of Board member Les Swanson, Jr. at the Illahe Hills Country Club in Salem.
