Brittany Kenison, State Board of Higher Education

Brittany Kenison was appointed to the Oregon State Board of Higher Education in September 2013. She is a full-time student at Oregon Tech attending the Wilsonville campus where she is majoring in the Information Technology: Business/Systems Analyst program.

Brittany joins the board as a non-traditional student, having had a prior career in banking and finance before deciding to return to school in 2012. She also worked for the 2005 Oregon State Legislature as a Committee Assistant for the Senate Health Policy and Senate Human Services committees. In 2003, she earned an Associates of Arts from Chemeketa Community College.

In June 2013, Brittany was selected as a participant for the National Education for Women's Leadership of Oregon program at the Center for Women, Politics & Policy at Portland State University. She is a current volunteer for the Liberty House, a Child Abuse Assessment Center, and served two terms as President for the Kiwanis of the Great Basin. Brittany was also certified in Nevada as a foster parent providing respite care and emergency placement services.

In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, hiking, cooking, and reading. Brittany lives in Salem with her son.

Her term ends June 30, 2015.
