Description
Excellence in Delivery and Productivity, commonly called More Better Faster, is a work-group of the Oregon State Board of Higher Education. Its focus can be viewed as a circle enlarging: as the circle grows in size, it will engulf more and more Oregonians, providing them with greater access to higher education. In this context, the workgroup's progress and goals may also overlap with the Access & Affordability and Academic Excellence/Economic Development workgroups of OSBHE.
Mission
To identify and develop opportunities and program changes resulting in:
- More Oregonians receiving an undergraduate degree
- Improved graduation rates for undergraduates at OUS institutions
- Faster time to degree for OUS undergraduates
- Better delivery of academic programs to OUS students
Goals
- Improved opportunities and efficiency for students to take courses from Oregon community colleges that apply towards an OUS degree.
- Use of technology to increase efficiency and empower more students to prepare for and graduate from an OUS institution.
- Improved retention rates of OUS undergraduate students.
- Increased opportunities for students to earn college credits while in high school including the use of on-line courses, Advanced Placement, and College-Now.
- Capacity of OUS and community colleges to provide high-quality educational opportunities to more students in a timely manner.
- Financial incentives to support the successful transition of students from community college to OUS
- Financial incentives offered to middle school students to increase college awareness and preparation
- Review of current policies and practices that may impede successful and timely college graduation.
- Scaling up of existing statewide programs and opportunities such as GEAR UP
